Agfa - Model - Movex 8-L - 1951
The camera is nicely finished in crystalline black paint with chrome fittings. It is quite light camera, only  over 2 lb.
The unique feature, at the time, was Lucimeter - built in photoelectric exposure meter. The cell is in the lower front part of the camera, behind a lenticular glass which restricts the angle of acceptance.
Viewfinder: looking through the window of the viewfinder, it is visible the needle of the light meter and a static pointer, which provides a datum line with which the meter needle must be aligned. The pointer is set according to the film speed (on the side of the camera - above the lens).
The lever which operates the lens iris (on the picture parallel to the objective) is coupled to a second iris over the cell.
In use, the camera is pointed at the subject - the film speed pointer already having been set - and the meter needles aligned by adjustment of the iris lever. There are no other adjustments or calculations to be made.
The other features:
- Lens: Agfa-Kine-Anastigmat, No 832770; 1: 2,8 / 12. Neutral density converter -Agfa Movex 8L; 4x; the lens is bloomed;
- The camera runs at one speed only - 16 fps;
- The spring motor runs some 7 ft of film (about 30 sec) at one wind. The mechanism runs very sweetly and quietly;
- Agfa cassette in the camera - of single-run 8 mm, 33 ft length; The charger loading is very easy - the charger slipped in with the film in the gate, and pushed properly down. The footage counter automatically is reset to zero. Pressure springs in the door hold the charger firmly in position.
Both Movex 8-L and Movex 8 cameras, in our collection, are in a very nice ever ready case.

 Movikon K 8 -Zeiss Ikon 1939
The camera was produced by Zeiss Ikon AG (Aktien-gesellschaft - Joint Stock Company), in Dresden. The model came to the market in 1938, just before the war.
            Movikon K Zeiss Ikon 8mm; Dresden;8%
Pict 1; Zeiss Ikon factory in Dresden; photo from the Zeiss Ikon catalog - 1931 year, in Polish language, in our collection.
In 1938 was introduced to the market model - Movikon K 16. Seen close to, we are under impression that Model Movikon K 8 is the same shape but inverted vertically.
All Zeiss Ikon cameras and other items received two numbers:
 - catalog numbers for shops selling the Zeiss Ikon items;
 - serial production number of the objects.
The catalog number of Movikon K 8 camera was - No 5501. The catalog number of Movikon K 16 was - 5494. The difference between numbers is small. It suggests that the Model K 8 was produced just after model K 16.
Our camera was produced on the German market. It has only German metrics - footage counter is in meter, description and continental size of the bush tripod.
The dimensions of the camera are: 63 x 127 x 140 cm and its weight 1,45 kg.

Construction and Finish
The metal parts of the camera body are die-cast aluminium  polished and some are satin chrome, the same as at model K 16.
The camera does not have its model name engraved on the body. The name is only embodied on the camera handle. The external and internal fittings are plated and bright polished, with the exception of the face plate. These have a light gray semi-matt metal finish.
The camera is covered of the black leather. The Zeiss Ikon logo in this model changed, it is printed in silver.

Features
On the front of the camera (Pict 4) are fitted: - Single exposure and continuous run, adjustable with the small knurled wheel; Letter “L” (lange) - continuous run, letter “E” (Einzelbild) for single picture; - the speed control, which is a rotatable button with knurled head, placed under the lens, gives infinite variety of speed: 8; 16; 24; 64 fps; - release button, a cable release can be attach.
On the back side (Pict.5) are:
 - The viewfinder with parallax correction. A correction can be done by moving the viewfinder eyepice, up and down.
 - Automatic film footage counter (from 0 up to 15 meter),  which only comes into operation when a magazine is loaded into the camera. It presses on a small plunger in the interior adjacent to the footage meter.
 - and exposure guide in DIN system (German system introduced in 1934).

Film size and loading
 The camera uses normal standard 8 film in reloadable cassette. It takes double 8 mm films - each side 7.5 meter. Our camera is supplied with original Zeiss Ikon cassette. The cassette is marked, on each side, - one side “I” and Zeiss Ikon logo, on the other side of the cassette - “II”. The take up dog is fitted with a kind of spring and the slot in the cassette is in the shape of cross - visible in the Pict 6.

Lens
 The lens is fixed. In our camera is fitted focusing lens; Zeiss Sonnar 1:2 f = 1 cm; prod No 2279873. The lens can be focus - 0.25; 0.35; 0.5; 1 and infinity. The same focus indication is built into the camera viewfinder;

Motor and exterior features
 The right side of the camera bears the motor anti clockwise winding crank, which tucks down flat when not used (Pict.2). It takes 48 turns to wind the camera fully. The motor runs 45 second.
 Summarizing
The camera was produced just before the war, but the design and the standard of it is superior. At that time not many cameras were produced with double 8 cassette. It is a little heavy.
